Tahoe Watercolor

My first watercolor painting done on-site at Lake Tahoe, Nevada. It was also my second time using a water brush. It's a bit different than using a regular brush, but for field paintings like this a water brush is super convenient. As you can see by the edges, I didn't pack any tape on my trip. The first couple paintings I didn't carry the color to the edge of the page, so they both have this ragged edge.
This shore of rocks is very close to the cabin we stayed at. As kids my cousins, my brother, and I used to climb these rocks down to the water and play around in the sun all day. It's been seven years since we've done that sort of thing. Getting a chance to paint these locations was very nostalgic.
